LCAHA PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Compliance with Governing Bodies

As a participant in the Lawrence County Amateur Hockey Association (LCAHA), I agree to learn and abide by the rules and spirit of the game as defined by:

• The USA Hockey Zero Tolerance Policy
• The USA Hockey Player Code of Conduct
• The MidAm Hockey Code of Conduct
• The LCAHA By-Laws and Policies

2. Respect for Officials & Game Integrity

• Zero Tolerance: In accordance with USA Hockey and MidAm standards, I will not confront, question, or "hassle" any game official. I will not use profanity, obscene gestures, or disparaging language toward officials, coaches, or opponents.
• Officials’ Authority: I recognize that officials are there to maintain the safety and integrity of the game. I will accept their decisions and maintain my composure regardless of the call.

3. Coaching & Team Communication

• The 24-Hour Rule: I will respect the 24-Hour Cooling Off Period. I will not confront a coach regarding a disputed decision for a minimum of 24 hours after the game or practice. I will follow the conflict resolution procedures described in the LCAHA By-Laws.
• Focus on the Ice: During practices and games, I will look to my coaches for instruction and direction. I will not seek coaching or "on-ice" advice from parents in the stands or dressing rooms.
• Locker Room Etiquette: I will not shout at or belittle teammates or opponents. I will maintain a positive environment in the dressing room and during all team activities.

4. Personal Responsibility & Safety

• Zero Tolerance for Substances: I will adhere to a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding the use or abuse of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or other substances.
• Property Respect: I will show zero tolerance for the theft or destruction of rink property, locker rooms, or the property of others.
• Sportsmanship: I will set a good example by being a "good sport." I will never boo or heckle game events, players, or officials, regardless of the outcome on the scoreboard.

5. Accountability & Discipline

I understand that I am a representative of Lawrence County and that my participation is subject to the following:

• Immediate Effect: Disciplinary measures administered by the LCAHA Board of Directors, Coaching Staff, or Team Manager take immediate effect and remain in place until an appeal is ruled upon.
• Parental Behavior: I understand that my participation in LCAHA may be subject to dismissal based on my own behavior or the behavior of my parents/guardians if they fail to adhere to their respective Code of Conduct.
• Governance: All disciplinary actions will be reported to the LCAHA Board of Directors and may be subject to further review by MidAm Hockey.

Participation of your child in any LCAHA activity constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of all LCAHA policies
