NEW CASTLE, PA – The Lawrence County Lightning teams had an eventful weekend on October 18th and 19th, competing across various age divisions and rinks. The club saw a strong series of victories, showcasing depth across its programs.
18U & 14U Divisions Dominant on Saturday: The Lightning's older divisions delivered decisive wins at Hess Ice Rink on Saturday (10/18), with the Lightning 18U cruising to a 6-2 victory over the Shaha Panthers, and the Lightning 14U following suit with a 4-2 win, also against the Shaha Panthers. The 10U teams faced stiff competition from the North PGH Wildcats at the Baierl Toyota Ice Complex, while the Lightning 12U2 fought in a close 3-4 loss to the Johnstown Warriors.
Sunday Success for 12U2 and 12U1: Sunday (10/19) brought significant wins, highlighted by a dominant performance from the Lightning 12U2, who bounced back with an 8-1 routing of the Mon Valley Thunder at Hess Ice Rink. The Lightning 12U1 also secured a hard-fought 5-4 victory against the State College Icers. The day closed with tough battles for the 10U1 and 14U teams, who faced losses against the Pittsburgh Yeti and Arctic Foxes, respectively.
