Welcome to the Lightning Family!

Thank you for your interest in the Lawrence County Lightning Youth Hockey program! Whether your child is stepping onto the ice for the very first time in our Lil’ Lightning program or looking to compete at the travel level in the PAHL, we are thrilled to help them start or continue their hockey journey at Hess Ice Rink.

Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment where young athletes can develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and learn the value of sportsmanship.

Lil’ Lightning (Free Learn to Play): Ages 4–10. Entry-level, focuses on basic movement and confidence. Loaner gear provided.

Little Penguins Learn to Play: Ages 5–9. Includes full head-to-toe equipment to keep. Sponsored by the NHL and Sidney Crosby.

8U ADM Travel: Birth years 2017–2021. Focuses on puck skills and small-area games. Includes home and away jamborees.

Youth Travel (10U – 18U): Competitive league play in the Pittsburgh Area Hockey League
